The City of Independence has an Open Burning Ordinance. Please click this
link and read through the Burn Ordinance before burning.
When having a controlled burn we ask that you have a garden hose, rake, fire extinguisher, etc. readily available in case the fire would get out of control. This is not required but always a good idea.
When burning we ask that you attend the fire at all times while is it burning and if you leave the area to extinguish the fire.
